UPDATE: Fire at Amur gas refinery in Russia’s Far East fully contained

BLAGOVESHCHENSK, Oct 8 (PRIME) -- Fire after a blast of gas at the Amur gas refinery in Russia’s Far East has been fully contained, a spokesperson for the plant told PRIME on Friday.

“The fire has been fully contained, the fire scene is being examined,” the person said.

Spokespersons for the facility said that the blaze broke out earlier on Friday at a 76 meter high gas processing unit following decompression of equipment. No one has been injured, there is no threat for the facility or nearby settlements.

The Amur Region’s prosecutor’s office said that it had started a check on the incident.
